East Tennessee State University’s infamous parking garage is up and running. That is good, but you can expect a higher parking fee next year. Why? ETSU will receive $1,057,200 less from the state of Tennessee in 2015.
Students beware — increased tuition and assorted fees will roll like the mighty Nolichucky River. Hang on to your life jacket and credit cards because it’ll be a rather expensive ride.
On a side note, let’s hope every floor of the parking garage has surveillance cameras for the safety and security of all. And who will take care of the maintenance of the garage? Probably the overworked/underpaid janitors — who else?
I’m really looking forward to ETSU’s next project — a $38 million arts center. Are some rich VIPs trying to compete with Greeneville’s ever-famous Niswonger Performing Arts Center? Trust me, whenever ETSU’s merry-go-round is built, the final price tag will be over budget.
Closing, I heard new traffic signals/system for the arts cathedral will cost $400,000. Bulbs not included?
