Fresh commissioners

Fresh commissioners

Yoo-hoo — fellow registered voters of Washington County. Now is your chance. I have already exercised my blessed American right to vote, and have voted, because I continue daily to be appalled and shocked at what is and for that matter, what also is not going on with the unprofessionalism and self-serving antics of many of our previously elected county commissioners.
How do we teach our children civility, teamwork and respect for one another, when they see on the news our “grown-up” County Commissioners attack our county mayor in a public facility? How do we, as adults, sit back and watch how our precious children are denied necessary educational needs while our hard-earned dollars instead pay for hundreds of thousands of dollars for elected county commissioners’ health and dental insurance?
How can we continue to re-elect some commissioners that have served four terms, at four years per term, which means that they have been on the Washington County Commission now for 16 years?
On Tuesday, you can help stop this nonsense and elect new fresh candidates, who are ready to serve us, the citizens of Washington County, now and for the future of our children and not serve themselves by using our hard-earned dollars for their personal gain.
My choice for one of those new fresh candidates is Lee Sowers in District 1. Lee is business-oriented, people-friendly, a Navy veteran and a community volunteer in numerous capacities who brings refreshing ideas to the table. And he is self-insured.

Tough decision
Looks like a great bunch of hard-working folks running for office is making it hard to choose. It would help to some degree to know who they feel is the more truthful and factual group. Would it be A) Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and friends, or B) Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and friends?
