I noticed that Roger Nave recently said in the Johnson City Press that, in reference to his role as a Washington County commissioner, “We held the line on expenses.”
That’s funny. In the March meeting Nave voted for commissioners to keep their taxpayer-funded health insurance that has cost us more than $400,000 over the past four years.
Interest rates went up as Nave played politics and voted twice to delay a bond package, thus costing the taxpayers and additional $300,000 and the school system another $178,000 over the life of the debt.
If this is Commissioner Nave’s idea of keeping expenses in line, I think we need some new people who will protect the interest of the taxpayers and not just play games with their commission buddies.
