Kindergartner hit and killed by school bus in North Georgia

FLINTSTONE, Ga. — A 6-year-old kindergarten student was killed about 7 this morning in front of Chattanooga Valley Elementary School in Flintstone, Ga., when he stepped in front of a bus that then moved forward, the Georgia State Patrol reported.

Officials said the young boy had ridden the bus to school and had just gotten off before stepping in front and being hit.

The names of the boy and the Walker County Schools bus driver have not been released by officials.
