State-mandated property value notices sent out

Washington County property owners will receive an “Assessment Change Notice” in the mail over the next few days, per state law.

According to a news release from the Washington County assessor of property, this notice is mandated to go every five years and reflects the market value of the property as determined by county appraisers. It comes during a countywide revaluation program and is not a tax bill.

Any questions should be directed to the assessor’s staff at 753-1670.
