City man arrested for being habitual motor offender

Gerald Alexander

A Johnson City man was arrested this weekend on charges of driving while being a habitual motor offender.

On Saturday, Johnson City Police Department officers arrested Gerald Eugene Alexander, 45, 414 E. Myrtle Ave., after they said they stopped him for speeding near the intersection of University Parkway and Southwest Avenue.

After checking Alexander’s driving record, police said they saw his license was revoked under classification of being a habitual motor offender.

Alexander was arrested and taken to Washington County Detention Center, where he was held on a $5,000 bond. His arraignment was scheduled for Monday afternoon in Sessions Court.
