MOUNT CARMEL — Steven McLain, who was hired Wednesday by the town of Mount Carmel to work as a "certified mechanic" in the public works department, will be the highest paid non-supervisor in his department.
Although the position was created specifically for a certified mechanic, McLain isn't a certified mechanic.
He is, however, the son-in-law of Mayor Larry Frost and Alderwoman Frances Frost.
As a new hire, McLain will be the second highest paid employee in the public works department, ahead of three employees who have worked for the town 27, eight, and two years respectively. Only Public Works Director Johnny Castle, who has worked for the town for 29 years, will make more than McLain.comments powered by Disqus
