SUNSET, Utah — A police officer whose unmarked police car was stolen by a burglary suspect may face disciplinary actions, the police chief said.
"There's a possibility there may be some discipline," said Sunset Police Chief Ken Eborn. "We're looking into it."
Eborn said Lt. Bruce Arbogast is aware he should not have stepped away from his car, leaving Nathan Joseph Ward, 26, in the back seat unattended on Sunday.
Ward was booked in the Davis County Jail on two counts of escape, one count of vehicle theft, four counts of theft and one count of burglary. He is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bail.
"The officer is beating himself up over this and knows he shouldn't have stepped away from the car. It was a bad judgement call on his part," Eborn said on Monday.comments powered by Disqus
