A city man was arrested after police said they were told he assaulted his girlfriend with a chair and frying pan.

On Saturday, police arrested Curtis L. Seals, 51, 1027 Johnson Ave., No. 2, after his girlfriend told them about the alleged assault.

Police arrived at Seals’ address around midnight Saturday and, after taking Seals’ girlfriend’s statement, noticed a cut and bruising on her left elbow and some swelling to her face.

Seals was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on an $11,000 bond. His arraignment was set for Monday afternoon in Sessions Court.
