To enhance awareness of Girl Scouting and all the regional Girl Scout Council has to offer, the Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians are giving away a year’s supply of their trademark cookies.
The “Want Cookies Win Cookies” contest is in its final weeks and the Southern Appalachian Council that stretches across East Tennessee and into Southwest Virginia is inviting everyone in its area to enter to win a 52-box supply of their favorite varieties.
While the competition is a sweet opportunity for people who missed out on this year’s Girl Scout cookie sales, people who like to give Girl Scout cookies to others or people who simply want more cookies to win big, Judith Rosenburg, the council’s senior director of program and resource development, said the competition is more about raising awareness.
“You have to like us on Facebook to enter and our hope is that more people will connect with the council and all we’re doing through our Facebook page,” Rosenburg said.
The entry forms and contest rules can be accessed by clicking on the “Want Cookies Win Cookies” tab at www.facebook.com/GSCSA, along with a “Like” box that requires a click to get you in the contest.
Once the official thumbs up is given to the council’s’ Facebook page, contestants are advanced to an authorization page where they must authorize Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians to access their Facebook profile before making their cookie selection and submitting their entry.
Subsequent entries may be submitted once daily through March 30. Additional entries can also be earned by referring Facebook friends to the promotion.
One winner will be randomly selected and notified by e-mail within seven days of the contest’s conclusion. The lucky winner will then receive their prize by mail, one box each week for the next 52 weeks.
Participants must be legal residents of the Southern Appalachians Council of Girl Scouts area, at least 13 years old and registered members of Facebook.com. Non-Facebook members who wish to enter are encouraged to visit www.facebook.com and register for a free account.comments powered by Disqus
