Two of four men arrested in an August assault on a man and woman they knew pleaded guilty last week in Washington County Criminal Court to some the charges.

Najier Morris “Tim” Hugley, 21, and Lance Hugley, 22, were originally charged with especially aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated assault and sexual battery.

In plea agreements, Najier Hugley pleaded guilty to simple assault — reduced from sexual battery — aggravated burglary — reduced from especially aggravated burglary — aggravated assault. The other aggravated assault against him was dismissed.

Lance Hugley pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary — reduced from especially aggravated burglary — and one counts of aggravated assault. The remaining charges were dismissed.

The incident happened Aug. 22 outside and inside a residence on St. Louis Street. According to court documents, police responded to an aggravated assault at 600 St. Louis St. and found Randy Tucker, who had been beaten with a beer bottle, suffering from lacerations to his head. The female victim, who had also been assaulted, told police that two men had also assaulted her with a liquor bottle.
