A Johnson City man was arrested after police said he was selling stolen metal to a local recycling center.
On Monday, police arrested Christopher Michael Forbes, 23, 610 E. Myrtle Ave., and charged him with theft of property over $1,000.
On March 5, members of Allied Metals, located at 201 Prince St., contacted police and told them that some metal had been stolen between March 3 and March 5. After checking with the recycling center, police said the missing metal had been sold by Forbes on March 3 and March 4.
Police said they found Forbes trying to sell more allegedly stolen metal to the recycling center on Monday.
Forbes was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was released on a $7,500 bond after his arraignment on Tuesday.comments powered by Disqus
