Loudon mother charged with attempting to kill disabled adult son

A Loudon County woman has been charged with attempting to kill her mentally and physically disabled son.

Loudon Police Department officers answered a report of an attempted suicide about 2 p.m. Sunday at 121 Elm Lane in Loudon, according to a news release.

While they were en route, they were notified the incident might be an attempted murder/suicide, according to Detective Brian Jenkins.

Officers found Casey Hogan, 24, at the Elm Lane address with a cut to his left wrist. Because of his disabilities, Hogan is unable to care for himself, Jenkins said, and Martha Brewer, 51, is his sole caregiver.
