The body of a 19-year-old Johnson City man who was reported missing in early February was found Saturday floating in a retention pond behind an apartment complex.
According to a news release from the Johnson City Police Department, Jeramy T. Kazen, 268 W. Main St., No. 13, was reported missing after being seen on Feb. 7 at a residence on Plymouth Road.
Police said the investigation into his disappearance had revealed few credible leads on the man’s possible whereabouts.
On Saturday, a resident of Plymouth Ridge Apartments, 2560 Plymouth Road, reported seeing something suspicious floating in a retention pond behind this apartment complex. A closer examination with assistance from the Johnson City/Washington County Emergency Medical Services and their Dive Team Unit revealed a body of a white male in the retention pond.
After recovering the body, it was identified as being that of Kazen, who was identified through several distinctive tattoos as described by family members, police said.
Kazen’s body was taken to the William Jenkins Forensic Center at the Quillen College of Medicine for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The investigation into this matter is continuing.comments powered by Disqus
