Man charged with hindering creditor

Marshall B. Hoilman

An Erwin man was arrested Thursday on a charge of hindering a secured creditor over $1,000, police said.

A Johnson City Police Department news release said Marshall B. Hoilman, West Park Street, is accused of taking a vehicle out of state after using it to acquire a title loan from Tennessee Best Title Loans, 2111 N. Roan St., Suite 10, on Dec. 13 on which no payments had been made. Because the vehicle was taken out of state by Hoilman, the loan company was unable to repossess the vehicle.

He was being held on $5,000 bond at the Washington County Detention Center and is set to appear in Sessions Court today at 1:30 p.m.
