UPDATE: One charged in crash that injured two pedestrians in Unicoi County

One person has been arrested in connection with the Unicoi County crash Thursday morning that sent two pedestrians to the hospital, according to authorities. The name of that individual has not yet been released to media.

A child and an adult were struck by a dark-colored SUV some time between 7-8 a.m. Thursday in the 5200-block of Unicoi Drive. Both were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

According to reports, a bus at the scene of the incident was not directly involved in the crash.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating.

Two pedestrians, reportedly a child and an adult, were struck by a vehicle in Unicoi County on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred in the 5200-block of Unicoi Drive.

The pedestrians were reportedly struck by a dark-colored SUV some time between 7-8 a.m. Both were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating and remained on the scene hours after the incident took place.
