Jamin McCann pitched five scoreless innings and East Tennessee State held on for a 4-3 win over Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday evening at Thomas Stadium.
The Bucs jumped out to a 4-0 lead, headlined by Trey York’s solo home run. Jordan Sanford added a RBI triple. York finished 2-for-3, while Dylan Tristch was 2-for-4 with a RBI. Kevin Phillips, in a pinch-hitter’s role, had ETSU’s other RBI hit.
After McCann gave up just two hits over five innings, Chris Cook and Jared Burton each had one no-hit inning of relief. Clinton Freeman hurled the final inning to pick up his first save of the season. Ben Gullo suffered the loss for the Colonels, giving up five hits and two runs in 4 1/3 innings.comments powered by Disqus
