  • ETSU parking garage still not ready, officials say soon. The long-overdue parking garage on the campus of East Tennessee State University will likely miss another deadline, but school officials say it will soon be open for students' vehicles.

  • Husband finds UT employee dead in parking garage where car pinned her. KNOXVILLE — A female University of Tennessee staff member was found dead Monday morning by her husband in a campus parking garage where her car apparently had rolled, trapping her against a wall.

  • Police say Johnson City man pulled handgun at West Walnut nightclub. Police arrested a 23-year-old man early Sunday morning on charges that he pulled out a gun in a crowd of people at a night spot near East Tennessee State University.

  • Kingsport's Dobyns-Bennett locked down. KINGSPORT — Dobyns-Bennett High School is on a "soft" lockdown, according to Marybeth McLain, communication editor with Kingsport City Schools.

  • Police say 2 had crack, pot in Johnson City hotel. Police found crack and marijuana in a Johnson City hotel on Sunday, resulting in two arrests, according to a news release.

  • ETSU bluegrass program often leads to national fame and recognition. If musical fame can be judged by national awards, tours, star-studded collaborations and notoriety, then graduates of East Tennessee State University’s Bluegrass, Old Time and Country Music Studies program are near the top of the list of famous musicians in their respective genres.

  • VW vote shows how much Republicans hate unions. Top Republican officeholders in Tennessee hate unions. I mean they really hate unions. They hate unions so much they would do just about anything to defeat them.
