KINGSPORT — Dobyns-Bennett High School is out of a soft lockdown after a single bullet was found in the school.
According to Andy True, chief information officer for Kingsport City Schools, Dobyns-Bennett went into a soft lockdown after a student discovered a single bullet in the school. The student gave it to a teacher who passed it along to the administration. The decision was then made to do a soft lockdown of the high school while an investigation was conducted.
A soft lockdown meant all students had to stay in the current classroom they were in.

KINGSPORT — Dobyns-Bennett High School is on a "soft" lockdown, according to Marybeth McLain, communication editor with Kingsport City Schools.
McLain said the school is on the soft lockdown so a short investigation can be conducted. She said the Kingsport Police Department is involved and in the building. She said there is no direct threat to students.
