Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a pair Wednesday following a traffic stop on the Kingsport Highway that eventually led to the discovery of drugs at a residence in Gray.
Deputies stopped the vehicle shortly before 8 p.m. on Feb. 19 and quickly discovered the driver, Michael Bentley, 37, 1010 Welcome Court, Gray, was driving on a revoked license.
Authorities took Bentley into custody and then reportedly discovered the passenger in the vehicle, Twana Taylor, 31, 147 Buttermilk Road, Gray, in possession of a small amount of marjuana.
During the stop, Bentley allegedly gave consent for deputies to search his residence. There, officers discovered 27 grams of marijuana, scales and other paraphernalia.
In addition to driving on a revoked license, Bentley was charged with a seat belt violation, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule VI drugs for resale.
Taylor faces a single charge of simple possession.
Both were transported to the Washington County Detention Center pending appearances in Sessions Court.comments powered by Disqus
