Johnson City man charged with Valentine's Day assault

A city man was charged with assaulting his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day, Johnson City police said in a news release.

Thomas Martin Dalton, 46, 121 Top Side Circle, No. 10, was charged with aggravated domestic assault Friday after police were called to the Johnson Inn, 2700 W. Market St., in reference to a report of a male and female fighting.

Officers observed a female with several obvious physical injuries, who was examined by emergency personnel and transported to an emergency room. She identified her boyfriend, Dalton, as the person who assaulted her.

After a brief investigation, Dalton was arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where a $15,000 bond was set and a Sessions Court arraignment scheduled for Monday.
