GREENEVILLE — Two people were charged Thursday with killing a Greene County man at his home on Monday.
Amanda Kate Harris, 27, and Mario Donte "Rio" Keene, 39, were charged with first-degree murder, having been held since Wednesday as people of interest in the case.
Greene County Sheriff Steve Burns said Donald Ray Gunter, 69, was found dead at his Old Mountain Road residence just before noon Tuesday. Burns said the killing took place on or about Monday night.
Burns, Assistant District Attorney Cecil Mills, Tennessee Bureau of Invesigation Special Agent Chris Wilhoit, and Detective Sergeant Mike Fincher met Thursday morning at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department and reviewed the facts of the case. Shortly after that meeting, arrest warrants were issued.
Harris and Keene were jailed in the Greene County Detention Center on $600,000 bond each with Sessions Court appearances set for Friday.comments powered by Disqus
