ELIZABETHTON — A man who allegedly attacked another man, a woman and a car with a golf club last weekend had his first appearance in Sessions Court on Wednesday.
Jason Lee Richardson, 30, 132 Jackson Ave., was arrested Saturday on charges of aggravated domestic assault, aggravated assault and vandalism. On Wednesday, he was appointed a public defender and the case was continued to Friday.
While at the residence, Deputy Myles Cook said he talked with Thad Buckles and Carlena Chambers, who told him they had been assaulted with a golf club and Chambers' vehicle was vandalized when they went to Richardson's house to retrieve property.
Richardson reportedly claimed he had been acting in self defense and also said no golf club had been used. However, Cook found a broken shaft of a golf club in Richardson's closet and the other end of the club in the yard.
Buckles and Richardson reportedly are cousins.
