The case of the foot-slapper and more from the Police Blotter

Avoid mysterious women. Following an altercation over a movie with his girlfriend, a local man found he didn’t know all that much about the woman he had been dating. All the information he could provide to police about the woman was her name, and he wasn’t even sure how to spell it. She had locked him out of the apartment after their argument, in which he accused her of hitting him in the eye.

Always wash your hands. One relationship went south recently after a woman accused her boyfriend of choking her when she questioned him about mixing her a drink with his dirty finger. She said he’d already drank an entire bottle of rum and became angry at the questioning, pushing her up against the wall with his hands around her neck. The man was ultimately arrested after fleeing the scene before police arrived.

Disorderly mess. A local man got in a tango with police after he was seen getting kicked out of a local night club. Officers watched him get in his vehicle and then take a drink of beer. The man refused to produce the open beer can when approached by officers, all the while becoming more aggressive. Officers used a taser to subdue the man. After the man was arrested, police found two open cans of beer his vehicle. He was charged with disorderly conduct, violation of the open container law, public intoxication and resisting arrest.

A religious thief. Responding to a call of a suspicious person in a white hoodie, police found the man they were looking for highly intoxicated and exiting the side of a vehicle which did not belong to him. When police checked the man, they found a stolen iPhone, cassette converter, rosary set and sample bottle of cologne.

Discipline or assault. Police had to make a judgment call when they responded to a woman’s claim that her mother assaulted her by slapping her. Her mother told police they did have an argument over the daughter helping pay bills, and she did slap her on the cheek as a form of discipline. No arrests were made.

Foot slapping. A woman told police a man slapped her on her foot. The man denied ever slapping her on her foot, and police dismissed any case due to a lack of evidence because there were no marks on her foot. The man then left the scene — on foot.

If the key fits. Six shower tub units were vandalized at a construction site recently. They appeared be destroyed by a mini excavator on the site. According to reports, the keys had been left inside the excavator. The last person to use the piece of equipment said the machine had been moved from the spot where it was previously parked.
