Unicoi man arrested on multiple theft charges

A Unicoi County man was arrested for burglary, theft over $1,000, theft over $500 and theft under $500 after a sheriff’s department investigation.


A news release from Sheriff Mike Hensley said John D. Chrisman, 19, was arrested for his alleged involvement in several thefts and break-ins in the Evergreen and Odom Branch areas of Unicoi County. Some of the items taken have included electronics, car parts and a wood-burning stove.


Chrisman also has another charge pending for theft over $1,000, and is being held in the Unicoi County Detention Center without bond.
