Jonesborough woman charged with forgery, theft

Pauletta Blankenship

Johnson City police arrested a Jonesborough woman Wednesday after she allegedly used a stolen ATM card multiple times.

On Jan. 2, a woman reported that her ATM card had been stolen while she was at the Johnson City Medical Center.

A short time later, police discovered several transactions made at local businesses using the stolen card.

Pauletta Putman Blankenship, 46, 183 Old State Route 34, Jonesborough, was caught on surveillance video using the card and signing the victim's name, according to investigators.

On Wednesday, authorities located Blankenship and charged her with six counts of forgery, theft of property under $500 and theft of property over $500.

She was being held at the Washington County Detention Center on $12,000 bond. Arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday in Washington County General Sessions Court.
