Police say two tried to use drive-through in burglary

Chris Byrd and Robert Sneyd

Police say they’ve arrested two Unicoi men in connection with a burglary at a business.

A Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department news release said Robert Sneyd, 19, 4292 Unicoi Drive, and Chris Byrd, 20, 5212 Piney Grove Road, were arrested by investigators for attempting to break into the Unicoi Market and Deli early in the morning Dec. 28. Police said the two men tried to damage the security cameras before attempting the enter the business through the drive-through window.

Both the cameras and the drive-through customer-alert system were damaged.

They were arrested Jan. 2 and charged with vandalism over $500 and burglary. They’re scheduled to appear in court Feb. 13.
