ROAN MOUNTAIN — Thieves struck a quarantined house on Dolan Hollow Road on New Years Eve, taking a Monitor heater, antiques and tools. The house had been quarantined because it had allegedly been used as a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory.
Amanda Fleenor told Carter County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Mosier that when she arrived at the residence on Tuesday afternoon, she found the garage door had been pried open. She said items stored in the garage were missing, including a Monitor heater, valued at $1,000; assorted tools with a total value of $500 and antiques with a total value of $300.
Mosier reported that Fleenor could not confirm whether any other items in the house had been stolen because it had been quarantined for the past few months and no one was allowed to enter.comments powered by Disqus
