Off the Wall News: Blountville man stabbed in fight with roommate over broken TV

BLOUNTVILLE — A busted television set — and subsequent argument between roommates over who would clean up the broken glass — has allegedly led to a stabbing at a Blountville residence.

The incident occurred at 11:30 p.m. Thursday at 423 Buncombe Road. Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Leslie Earhart says deputies were still investigating the incident with charges pending, while the man stabbed was treated and released from the hospital.

Matthew Bingham, 18, and Wayne Colvin Jr., 28, were reportedly arguing over a recently broken TV. Witnesses told detectives that when Colvin demanded that Bingham clean up the broken glass, he refused and called Colvin a "son of a bitch."
