Investigators with the Johnson City Police Department arrested a city man Thursday on 14 counts of forgery.
According to police, Joshua Alan Fields, 27, 617 W. Mountain View Road, passed several stolen checks at an area business recently.
On Dec. 12, a woman reported to police that her checks had been stolen and were being passed at the business. Investigators utilized surveillance video of the transactions at the business to develop Fields as the suspect.
At the time of his arrest on the forgery charges, Fields was already at the Washington County Detention Center where he was being held on unrelated charges.
He is being held in lieu of $13,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on Monday in Washington County General Sessions Court.
