St. Jude donations stolen from Kingsport drive-through

KINGSPORT — Money intended for children with catastrophic diseases has been stolen from a downtown Kingsport business, where someone allegedly reached through a window to swipe a donation jar.

On Monday night, Kingsport police were contacted by an employee of Seaver's Bakery, 719 E. Center St. An officer was told that sometime between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m. the drive-through window had been opened from the outside.

An individual is believed to have then reached inside to grab a donation jar for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A police report says the jar contained approximately $50 in cash and coins.
