Guns in parks

Guns in parks

The lead article in Monday’s paper is just another example of how government (at all levels) has its head in the sand when it comes to gun control.
The mayor is concerned that the city of Johnson City might follow the lead of Bristol and Erwin when it comes to guns being allowed in city parks. Outlawing guns in city parks does not keep guns out of the hands of criminals — it keeps guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens. The result is less safety for the average citizen, not more.
The Constitution in the Second Amendment reads: “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
I don’t see anything in the above amendment pertaining to city parks, do you?
