After a traffic stop, Johnson City police Thursday arrested a man who had been declared a habitual motor offender.
A city police news release said officers stopped Thomas E. Fannon, 43, 205 Hamilton St., about 1:30 a.m. for improper registration of his vehicle. A records check revealed that Fannon had previously been declared a habitual motor offender.
Fannon was charged with driving while restriction in place (habitual motor offender) and improper registration. He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $5,000 bond.
Fannon is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court today at 10 a.m.
