KINGSPORT — An autopsy has been ordered for a body that was located Monday morning near a busy Kingsport intersection, while police say a preliminary investigation has found no evidence of foul play.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. a passing motorist made the discovery and alerted Kingsport central dispatch. Kingsport Polcie Department detectives responded to the location, a field adjacent to the intersection of Interstate 26 and John B. Dennis Highway, later identifying the deceased as a 28 year old white male.
KPD Public Information Officer Tom Patton says the man will not be publicly identified, "out of respect for everyone involved." He added that the man was last seen alive on Sunday night and his family has been notified of the death.
