CHURCH HILL — A Church Hill man told sheriff's deputies Monday evening his name was “Don Juan” and he was pretending to be a chicken in the yard of a total stranger to scare away the “imaginary people.”

Daniel Craig Peoples, 48, 230 Silver Lake Road, Church Hill, also allegedly admitted that he’d been using bath salts that day, he thought he was in Lexington, Ky., and he needed a ride home to Hawkins County.

The homeowner told deputies the man, later identified as Peoples, had parked in his driveway, gotten out of his vehicle, and was acting like a chicken, as well as talking to himself and foaming at the mouth.
