Off the Wall News: Elizabethton man accused of stealing Bible from vehicle in Johnson City

An Elizabethton man recently was arrested on accusations that he broke into a woman's vehicle in Johnson City and stole her Bible.

Rickey Cheyenne Greenwell, 40, 340 Lovers Lane, was arrested Thursday after an investigation into a Sept. 17 incident at 3915 Bristol Hwy.

Police said a woman reported that someone forced entry to her vehicle and stole her bible. During the investigation, Greenwell was developed as a suspect and later identified by a witness from the scene.

Greenwell was charged with auto burglary and theft of property under $500.

He was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $11,000 bond and arraigned Monday in Sessions Court.
