Surveillance image from Walmart released by Elizabethton police.

ELIZABETHTON — A surveillance image released to local media helped Elizabethton police issue charges in a Walmart theft case on Thursday.

Police said Alec Colby Frye and Jody Renee Pryor were each issued a criminal summons to appear in Sessions Court on Dec. 16. Each was charged with one count of theft under $500.

On Nov. 6, two people were seen taking a wallet and prescription medication from another Walmart shopper and leaving in a silver Ford Focus.

After the images were published, police received several tips from the public, resulting in the charges.
