East Tennessee State University's George L. Carter Railroad Museum has two special events planned this month.
The museum marks its sixth anniversary Saturday with an exhibit on the history of model trains and guided tours of the scale model of the ET&WNC railroad. Special events for children include a Thomas the Tank Engine Film Fest.
On Nov. 30, the museum hosts a free Heritage Day. This event will highlight the Norfolk & Western and modern Norfolk Southern railways, from the steam era to the latest heritage locomotives.
Located in the Campus Center Building (former Student Union building) at ETSU, the museum is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. See Johnson's Depot for more details.
