Johnson City police arrested a man Sunday after reports of shots fired into a motel room and a kidnapping, a court document said.
Brandon Lynn Miller, 28, 415 Cash Hollow Road, was charged with aggravated kidnapping after investigators interviewed a woman who said he put a gun to her head and took her to the motel where the shots were fired.
Officers first responded to the Motel 6, 207 E. Mountcastle Drive, after a report of shots fired into one of the rooms. During that investigation, a woman called 911 about being kidnapped.
The woman told police that Miller forced her into a vehicle at the Motel 6 at gunpoint.
“He was armed with a handgun and told her he would kill her boyfriend if he did not stay in the vehicle while he went up to one of the rooms,” Johnson City Police Investigator Bret Richardson wrote in a court document.
Police said the woman said she heard a gunshot while Miller was gone and she was afraid for her safety.
When Miller returned to the vehicle, he got in the car behind the victim, held the gun to the back of her head and forced her to drive to Carter County, the woman told Richardson.
There was no indication in the court record about where Miller allegedly forced the woman to drive or how they came in contact at the motel.
Miller was scheduled for arraignment in Washington County Sessions Court on Monday afternoon. He was being held on $50,000 bond.comments powered by Disqus
