Dennis Allen Foster
BLOUNTVILLE — A Sullivan Couty man was arrested Monday on charges that he voted in May's Bristol municipal election despite having lived outside the city limits for six years, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced in a news release.
Dennis Allen Foster, 50, Blountville, was indicted last week on one count of illegal voting, a class D felony.
In May, the Sullivan County administrator of elections brought information to the 2ndJudicial District Attorney General who requested a TBI investigation. Foster voted early in the election and falsely declared with his signature that he resided at his former address inside the city limits at the time he voted, the TBI said.
He also signed, postdated and mailed a change of address form to the Sullivan County Election Commission acknowledging he no longer lived within the Bristol city limits.
Foster was booked into the Sullivan County Jail on $2,500 bond.
