Off the Wall News: Police say McDonald's craving prompted Kingsport woman to run over boyfriend

KINGSPORT — A Kingsport woman's food cravings allegedly ran amok Wednesday morning, as her boyfriend's refusal to visit McDonald's spurred her to run him over with a pickup truck — striking him three times.

Crystal Greer Brooks, 33, of 156 Glenburn St., was arrested on West Carters Valley Road. Officers were called to the 400 block shortly after midnight.

A Kingsport Police Department incident report says Brooks' boyfriend was located at the scene with abrasions to his arms and back, while his clothing, "appeared torn, consistent with being dragged on the pavement."

A witness told police Brooks, her boyfriend and an acquaintance had "all been drinking," then went out to eat.
