Ghosts, aliens, and superheroes take center stage in several one-acts.
The Theatre Bristol Young Actor’s Guild presents “A Night Of Not-So-Scary Halloween One-Acts,” October 25 & 26 featuring Ghost Hunters of Route 66, Touched By An Alien, and Superhero Support Group written by D.M. Larson.
The production features three separate one-act plays with intermediary acts performed by members of Theatre Bristol’s Young Actor’s Guild. The Guild includes Makenna Arnold, Kaylie Crain, Ben Fitton, Daniel Freeman, Camille Gray, Carson Musick, Seth Peterson, and Nick Thompson.
Ghost Hunters of Route 66 tells of Paul (Fitton) and Patsie (Musick), owners of the "Boo Cafe", a hot spot in their small country town, are scared witless after a ghostly encounter. The only solution, they decide, is to call in the renowned French ghost hunters, Monique (Gray) and Jaque (Peterson), who maybe in over their heads this time around.
In Touched By An Alien, the Captain (Freeman) and Commander (Peterson) of a Space Exploring vessel, land on an uncharted planet with Officer Grunt (Gray) and a new Cadet (Musick). Their mission is to get the alien (Fitton) resident's permission to take over their planet by any means necessary but they are constantly distracted by their own vain wants and desires.
And last, but certainly not least, Superhero Support Group, the Doctor (Musick), a mysterious character, has gathered together Dogboy (Freeman), Catchick (Crain), Smack (Peterson), and Caper (Gray), the greatest superheroes of our time, in her office for an unknown reason. However, after an encounter with Shade, another hero, the supers discover the doctor's plans to put them all through an insidious therapy that will remove their powers...forever!
With Nick Thompson on lights and sound and Makenna Arnold stage managing, this production not only features the Young Actor’s Guild’s onstage talents but their offstage talents as well. From set to costumes to light to marketing, everything is done by these talented youth, with the guidance of Board of Directors members Mike Musick and Samantha Gray.
Audiences are invited to get into the Halloween spirit and come to the show dressed as their favorite ghost, alien, superhero, or any other not-so-scary character!

Founded in 1965, Theatre Bristol is the oldest continually running children’s theatre in northeast Tennessee. Its Main Stage season consists of up to five productions.
