It may be time to change the tradition of selling peanuts in the shell to selling single-serve packages that contain peanuts already removed from the shell.
Peanut shells litter sports venues, whether it be Kermit Tipton Stadium, Cardinal Park or Thomas Stadium. Yes, allergens are a problem, but attendees can also slip on the shells and other used food containers. Littering sets a poor example for the young people.
I would also guess that it adds to stadium clean-up costs.
Why not simply pitch in and do our parts to keep the stadiums healthy, safe and litter-free?
