After reading Congressman Phil Roe’s remarks regarding the Affordable Care Act on Oct. 18, I believe I now understand the issue he has with it. He is quoted as saying “people say the Affordable Care Act is the law of the land, but that doesn’t mean we should just accept it.”
Perhaps no one has explained to Dr. Roe that it is the law of the land, one of many he swore an oath to support and defend.
I would prefer to think that he is confused about the legal status of the Affordable Care Act rather than concluding that he is advocating accepting only those laws with which one is in agreement.
