Tennessee's U.S. senators showed leadership, understanding

During the recent government shutdown and debt ceiling crisis, Tennesseans should be proud of the bipartisan work of our U.S. senators, Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander. Sen. Corker appeared on several of the news networks and expressed his desire to work for the common good of the people of the United States. Both of our senators understand the constitutional process. They demonstrate a “We the People” attitude manifested in servant leadership.
Although my personal political leanings are not as conservative as our senators, I do appreciate their actions of service in voting to reopen the government and extend the debt limit ceiling.
I hope U.S. Rep. Phil Roe will learn a lesson of what it means to be a true statesman.
“We the People” can solve our country’s problems when we cooperate for the common good.
