ELIZABETHTON — A Roan Mountain man was arrested on Saturday night on several driving charges, including an 11th offense of driving under the influence.
Michael Glenn Puckett, 50, 121 Smith Branch Road, Roan Mountain, also was charged with a third offense of driving while a habitual motor offender and driving on a revoked license. He is scheduled to answer the charges in Sessions Court on Nov. 15.
Deputy Isaac Rhea of the Carter County Sheriff's Department reported he stopped Puckett after he noticed a van going north on U.S. Highway 19E in Hampton at a speed of only 32 mph.
Rhea turned to follow the van and said it crossed the fog line five times within a mile. Rhea stopped the van and identified the driver as Puckett.
A records check indicated he was a habitual motor offender. Rhea said Puckett admitted to consuming several alcoholic beverages earlier in the day.
