Update: Call about threats leads police to weapons, drugs in Johnson City apartment

Keith Sellers and Jordan Charles

After responding to a call about a disturbance at a Johnson City apartment early Tuesday morning, Johnson City police arrested two men on weapons and drug charges.

According to a police report, about 3:30 a.m. a JCPD officer met with a woman at 2560 Plymouth Road, Apt. 414, who said she saw two men smoking crack in the apartment.

The woman said she was asked to perform sexual favors for the two men who lived there, later identified as Keith E. Sellers, 53, and Jordan C. Charles, 22. When the woman refused, she told police she was kicked out of the apartment, prompting her to call police.

When police arrived, they said a man opened the door, releasing a strong odor of marijuana. As officers entered the apartment, they found Charles and Sellers in the bedroom, where they located three firearms, one of which was loaded with a full magazine and was found between mattresses.

The weapons included a Winchester revolver and a Glock .22-caliber. A records check revealed the Glock had been reported stolen in Washington County.

Police said they saw drugs and items consistent with the sale and distribution of drugs when they were in the apartment.

Sellers was charged with maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances or distributing, possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of a weapon. Charles was charged with possession of stolen property and manufacturing/delivering/selling a controlled substance.

Both were jailed in the Washington County Detention Center pending Sessions Court appearances today — Sellers on $25,000 bond and Charles on $15,000 bond.
