Historic Blountville Flea Market and Yard Sale set for Saturday

BLOUNTVILLE — The Sullivan County Department of Archives and Tourism’s fifth annual Historic Blountville Flea Market and Yard Sale is this weekend, running from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. smack in the middle of the Great Stage Road.

Admission is free to shoppers. Vendor registration closed last week.

The event has drawn hundreds of vendors and thousands of shoppers in past years, and will go on come rain or shine, said Shelia Steele Hunt, director of the Sullivan County Department of Archives and Tourism.

As of last week, Hunt said the roster of vendors was running at overflow status, meaning some booths will be set up in nearby parking lots as well as down the street.

Goods offered are expected to run the gamut, from arts, crafts, and antiques, to household items and clothing, to specialty items from local artisans.

Only vendors are allowed in the flea market area prior to 8 a.m. Saturday, Hunt said.
