Public defender appointed for Johnson City man accused of raping 4-year-old girl

A 19-year-old Johnson City man was arraigned Friday on a charge that he raped a 4-year-old girl.


Holden Marshall Ledford, 6 Trivette Concourse, No. 2, was charged with rape of a child. I an arraignment hearing Friday in Washington County General Sessions Court, the public defender’s office was appointed to represent him.


Johnson City police said the investigation revealed Ledford sexually assaulted the girl at his residence on or around Aug. 16. Police said the act was seen by a witness.


The warrant filed in court provides few details about the incident, except the girl’s age and how the rape occurred.


There was no indication how Ledford had access to the child.


Ledford was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $50,000 bond. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m.
