The Johnson City Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Robert Seebacher will present their free pops concert Sunday at Winged Deer Park at 6 p.m.
The concert is sponsored by the Johnson City Press.
Pack up a picnic supper, your lawn chairs or a blanket, and the family and come listen to marches, movie music, show tunes, and your pops favorites on the shore of Boone Lake.
This annual musical gift to the community precedes the regular subscription season, which opens October 12.
Featuring cellist Cherylonda Fitzgerald, the October concert includes music by Antonin Dvorak and Jean Sibelius. Information about the rest of the season and season tickets will be available at the Winged Deer Park concert.
For more information about the JCSO and its 44th season, “Dreams & Inspirations,” call the JCSO office at 926-8742 or visit www.jcsymphony.com. The concert at Winged Deer is free, but contributions will be gladly accepted.
The orchestra is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Tennessee Arts Commission.comments powered by Disqus
